William Jarvis hails from one of racing’s best known families, and took over the licence from his father, Ryan, in 1985. Ryan Jarvis trained with great success from the 1950’s until the late 1970’s and the family has been part of Newmarket’s racing past for 200 years.
William’s early years were spent as assistant to triple Melbourn Cup winning trainer, George Hanlon in Australia, and five enjoyable years with Henry Cecil, as well as riding with some success as an amateur jockey.
William has an impressive record as a trainer, having trained around 30 Group or Listed winners and has trained a winner at every flat racecourse in Britain!
2011 was a great year for the Phantom House team with 25 winners from 148 runners, an impressive strike rate of 17%! 2012 promises to follow suit with Qushchi, Beaufort Twelve and Lothian Sky staying in training, and solid handicappers, Rock A Doodle Do, Oriental Scot and Loki’s Revenge all set to fly the flag for William.
