Welcome to the Newmarket Trainers Website, which is all about horse racing in Newmarket, the Headquarters of British Racing. Newmarket virtually revolves around horses, and the whole town and surrounding Heath is geared towards the training and safety of the horses and stable lads and lasses.

There are over 60 trainers in the town and at least 2000 horses in training. To accommodate all these highly-strung thoroughbreds and get them to the training grounds and gallops, there are miles of “horse-walks” all through the town, and special places for crossing the busy roads.

The gallops here are second to none, and there is hardly ever a day when trainers are unable to work their horses, as there is so much choice of all-weather and turf tracks. Maps of the training grounds can be downloaded from this site. Newmarket sports 2 racecourses, The Rowley Mile which is used in the Spring and Autumn, and The July Course for the summer.

The Rowley Mile course has built a very modern and costly grandstand which has been in use for a number of years and is an excellent venue for parties, conferences and shows. The July Course has undergone a massive expansion and refurbishment in 2006/7, but still maintains a relaxed atmosphere and has excellent evening race meetings during the summer, with live music after the racing.

The Jockey Club has its headquarters in Newmarket and many of the top jockeys live here, and can be seen riding ‘work’ in the early hours if you are prepared to get out of bed in time!

In the following pages,The Newmarket Trainers Federeration has provided a list of all the trainers in the town, some of whom have written a page about themselves. There is also a list of the Racing Fixtures for this year.

Why not come along to the races, or at least have a look round the website and see what Newmarket has to offer!
